Belarus 10 Rubles Saints of Orthodox St. Seraphim of Sarov silver crystals 2008

The beautiful collectible coin depicts the famous Orthodox saint St. Seraphim of Sarov. The piece was produced by the Belarusian State Mint in 2008 as a part of series dedicated to the Saints of Eastern Orthodox Church. The saint lived as a monk and hermit in Russian Empire in XVIII-XIX centuries and is famous for his wonders. Saint Seraphim was canonized in 1903 in the presence of the last Russian Emperor and his family. The iconic image of the saint is placed on the reverse of silver 10-ruble coin in his recognizable appearance and pose. Four shimmering colored crystals are inlayed around the image giving it more spectacular view. The name of the saint in Belarusian is placed around the relief image by the circumference. The other side contains the small state emblem of Belarus and the name of it. There are face value of the coin and the year of issue as well. All inscriptions are made in old Slavic style which is used in Russian Orthodox tradition till nowadays. The central image is a chapel related to the St. Seraphim of Sarov.
